Track Bars
They do the job of laterally locating the axle of your vehicle on solid axle suspensions and they have a link-coil design. The Dodge Ram may suffer severe frontend oscillations.
The Problem
We put a lot of load on the track bars of our vehicle and when they are improperly adjusted or even a little damaged or lose, they will cause the axle to go off-center. This results in clunking or popping when you steer the car or are driving over bumps. If not taken care of, this can even cause the steering wheel to go off-center. You will notice that the front axle moves laterally with the steering wheel when you encounter a problem with the front track bar. If you’ve had improper suspension modifications or used wrong installation techniques chances are that your track bars will soon bend or break. Grade bolts that are improper or unsuitable can break. The bolts with inappropriate size may oval-out or damage a bushing. You will notice that the most common hardware failures in your car will often be a result of failure to re-torque. This is because any poorly done welding job will not be able to support or bear the load generated by a shock. Other common reasons include use of shocks of improper length, unsuitable hardware, any missing bumpstops or absence of limit straps.

It is simple really. You should hire a qualified welder to do the job. He should be able to re-weld any broken shock mounts and this time, ask him to do a fine job of it unlike what he did the last time.
